Meet the team

Kitchens & Cabinets has been providing custom build joinery in the Bay of Islands for many years. It is owned and operated by Okiato locals Bill and Julie Kidman.

BILL:  A qualified boat builder with over twenty years experience, Bill brings his passion for woodworking excellence and design innovation ashore. His ability to think outside the square combined with a fierce approach to logic enables him to bring original ideas to interior joinery.  His focus on perfection ensures a quality finish to all work.

JULIE: Drawing on her passion for cooking, interest in design and enthusiasm for creating liveable spaces, Julie consults with clients to develop 3D renditions of kitchen design concepts. Julie has completed the NZKBA (New Zealand Kitchen and Bathroom Association) Kitchen specialist course and is currently studying for her National Certificate in Kitchen Design.  

GRANT:  Grant is a people person, customer focused with a great sense of humour who demonstrates a high level of commitment to quality, detail and professionalism. He completed his trade qualifications over ten years ago and brings a wealth of experience in residential and marine interior construction. He is a dedicated and skilled joiner. His amicable personality and wit contribute significantly to the positive attitude in the workshop.

BENNY:  Benny is in the final stages of his Joinery Apprenticeship. He brings the latest thinking in joinery technology and a real enthusiasm for building quality interior cabinetry. Benny loves working with natural timber and creating beautiful furniture. He’s also a keen sportsman playing, rugby, soccer and cricket. If he wasn’t a joiner he’d also make a good barista! 

OTHERS: When required additional qualified contractors join the Kitchens & Cabinets core team. We work only with those who adhere to our strict quality standards and can produce work of the highest calibre.
